Cameron Diaz talked to Vogue about breaking out of her comedy comfort zone and taking on an intense drama:

“People who put labels on themselves limit themselves. If you are a woman who’s been labeled as a sex symbol, for instance-I mean, I am not saying that’s the label people would apply to me. But if you see yourself that way, inevitably you get to a point when you are no longer a sex symbol. And if you can’t move past that, you’re putting a limit on yourself; you’re arresting your development. And that’s where I think a lot of women get in trouble.”

An undeniable sex symbol in front of Mario Testino’s lens, the green actress (at the box office and in real life) dons organic designs by 3.1 Phillip Lim, Stella McCartney and Rag & Bone, just to name a few, for her desert-set “Sunshine Superwoman” (or as we like to call it “Diaz in Desert”) editorial.

But I have too many people that keep me in check if I fail to do so myself.”

On wanting to be like Salma Hayek:
“All you see is Salma and a sea of ties, and she’s leading,” she says. “A woman who is in control, who commands the ship and knows what she’s doing, is what I want to be.”

On her version of a fun saturday night:
“We just get together in my house or at a friend’s house,” she says, “and it’s about finding the most expensive bottles of wine and having the most exquisite conversations till 3 o’clock in the morning—and having someone sober drive us home. Usually the men.”

“Robert Pattinson and Zac—they’re just too pretty with the big hair and the suits. And Rob is, what, 22? Zac is 21? That’s a joke. Boys in their twenties are a waste of time. They have nothing to offer conversationally; they’re immature. I feel like I have a better shot with someone in his thirties.”

As she further explains: “I’ve lived the life of a 35-year-old since I was 18. I’m so suspicious of boys-slash-men. I just don’t like them or trust them.”
